During an event “European Networking Event Innovation Interface Berlin”, which took place on the 23-25th of March, 2014 in Berlin representatives of cultural and creative industries discussed the trends of the intersectoral innovations.

During a workshop local intersectoral working groups analyzed innovation in separate fields and sectors, distinguished by event organisers. The insights about the innovative development of smart technologies and internet of things.

Despite the fact that customer experience and innovative design solutions will continue being main factors affecting the demand of smart technologies, other niche markets – users of medical equipment, needs of disabled people – will also have a strong influence.

It is possible that tension between large corporations that own patens of new technologies and creative SMEs that aim to realize individual innovative projects will become more apparent.

One of the main technological problems is the interplay and communication between devices. In the near future smart devices will slowly converge with smart environment technologies. In this way internet of things will become invisible, individual, simple, ubiquitous part of user body.

Businessmen, designers, communication experts, IT specialists and scientists from Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, Poland and Italy participated in the discussion.

In the context of the international Project “Cross Innovation” creative innovation is defined as intersectoral interplay between creative and other industries, when use of cultural products and services is complemented with knowledge transfer and continuous accumulation and use of a new knowledge.
