Future Society Institute, Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency and Kaunas University of Technology initiated the collaborative Project that focuses on the preservation and management of cultural heritage and are currently seeking for Partners – research teams in different countries – to participate in the Heritage Plus Call.
Heritage Plus Call is an Era-Net plus action that aims to pool national expertise and resources and establishing closer and robust collaboration among countries in the field of cultural heritage. The Call for proposals is designed to generate new, research-based knowledge to promote the sustainable use and management of cultural heritage and so to meet societal challenges as well as contribute to the development on the society and its social cohesion.
The aim of the research is to analyze sustainable preservation and management strategies. The research will focus on three key sub-themes: an overview and analysis of immovable cultural heritage management practice in UNESCO World Heritage sites (Vilnius city – living urban site, historic city core & Neringa – cultural and natural landscape with 5 living historic settlements), analysis of interaction between (urban) development planning and heritage preservation and development of cultural heritage management strategies. By using knowledge of international researchers and experts, analyzing good practice management strategies of other European countries and arranging discussion groups with practitioners, we hope to make a research that can add value to the society and be easily applied in practice.
We are inviting any relevant stakeholders to join this international and interdisciplinary Project and contribute to the preservation of highly-valuable cultural heritage of the country.
